Best time to visit Rome

by VisitItaly on June 23, 2009

When visiting Rome, here’s a question that is interesting to ask yourself! And indeed, we have no precise answers to give you, all depends on what you want! We will provide some details but we must not lose sight that visiting Rome is a delight throughout the year.

Even if the winter is quite mild, around 13 degrees during the day, at night the temperature can drop up to 3 or 4 degrees. So when you take your Location Rome , think about it! In the same thought, during the summer when temperatures reach 30 degrees in your Appartement Rome you will be happy to have air conditioning. You must be careful to choose a quality flat.

In January and February there are less tourists visiting the streets, from March, temperatures and days are longer. Here is something valuable! Then, many religious festivals take place in the Vatican including Easter. The summer months are hot but they also give you the opportunity to consider a trip to the beautiful beaches only 40mn away from Rome where you can refresh you with pleasure. The Romans are on vacation at that time, there will be less traffic in town. September seems to be a good compromise, there are less people and little risks of having to face the rains fall. Finally in December the beautiful Christmas decorations should really be known, but you will not be alone in having this idea!

As you can see, you can visit Rome throughout the year. The rest are just details, the Coliseum awaits you 365 days a year.

Slim Down and Look Great on Your Summer Vacation

by VisitItaly on May 28, 2009

Summer is almost here. Chances are you have some sort of vacation planned that will involve getting into a bathing suit. You might be planning a trip to the world’s largest water park in the Wisconsin Dells. It could be a trip to Myrtle Beach and some fun in the sun. It could simply be a short trip that involves a stay at a hotel with a pool. Regardless of the reason, you will want to look and feel good when you put on that swim suit.

One of the most popular health and fitness supplements on the market today is the acai berry. This supplement has been reportedly used by countless celebrities to lose weight and increase energy. It has been touted as the best antioxidant dietary supplement on talk shows and news programs. There have been extensive studies in scientific journals I can’t even begin to understand. And there are tons of newspaper, magazine, and internet advertisements for this super food.

Before you run out and get the first acai berry supplement you can get your hands on, make sure you know what you are getting and why. Unlike many popular weight loss supplements, acai berry supplements do not control hunger or eating habits. They are an antioxidant that helps make your body healthier and have more energy. When you have more energy, you are able to be more active and which burns more calories and leads to weight loss. If you are looking for a miracle drug that is going to burn off fat while you sit on the couch, they won’t help you. Using acai berry supplements can help you feel better and have more energy which will lead to weight loss because you are more active day in and day out.

Once you are looking great for your swimsuit, we need to make sure you have someplace to go and show off your new, leaner, healthier body. If you don’t have plans yet or would like to find some ways to get a inexpensive trips, you should check out Cheap Family Vacations where you can enter to win a free cruise and find other ideas for saving a bunch of money on your family vacation.

For the record, the author is not a travel agent or world traveler with lots of experience. My ideas are not always based on personal experience and are never more than just personal opinion designed to help you. I am not responsible for the fulfillment of any offer recommended. I am also not a doctor so please don’t take any health or fitness related advice without first checking with a doctor to make sure dietary or exercise changes are ok for you.

How to Travel Safely in a Foreign Land

by VisitItaly on May 11, 2009

If you’re going on a vacation or work in another country, it is important that you practice a few safety measures first to keep your trip as enjoyable as possible. A lot of people experience culture shock, simply because they underestimated the situation and did not bring the right materials to stay on course. Here are some tips I’ve learned from past trips.

1. Research. It is vital that you study in advance and read some books, magazines and a few online articles about the city or country you are visiting. You will get to know more about the popular sites, people and culture. You minimize the risk of having culture shock by understanding some of their traditions and customs. Check out how their Men’s executive wallets look like, as you may be visiting a shopping hub or two.

There are a number of places that have seemingly rude gestures. The Japanese may ask you to take your shoes off before entering their home, while the Chinese prefer that you sip your soup and noodles with the loudest sound possible to show that it is really delicious. You have to learn a few respectful gestures and words of greeting as well.

2. Time matters. When you’re vacationing, time tends to fly very quick. It is important that you check the time zones to know when to schedule your sleeping periods. You can reduce the chances of jetlag and feeling tired throughout your journey by pacing yourself. You should try to sleep at your destination’s current time 2 to 3 days before you depart. You may find some Attaché case handy to know the exact date and schedule. Make sure that you are alert and ready for conferences and meetings.

3. Navigation. There are plenty of ways to find your way effectively throughout the city. You have to pack some maps, your GPS and a compass even in your Laptop attaché. Familiarize yourself with the surroundings, starting with your own hotel room. You need to look for major streets and landmarks so that you can easily find your way back just in case
It is recommended that you go by foot during the first few days, then start navigating for important terminals such as the bus stops, train stations and bicycle rental stations. You also should research beforehand about particular restaurants that cater to foreign taste buds, since some dining areas may be too unique for your choice.

4. When attending ceremonies. You need to prepare the right dress for certain occasions like weddings, dinner parties and festivals. You can actively participate in a number of programs. Simply inquire at the front desk of your hotel about special tourist options to make the most out of your trip.

It is also very useful to learn a few simple words and sentences, to effectively communicate and mingle with the locals. You can find your way around much more easily if you know words like “Where is…?”, “How do I get from… to…?” and “What are the available modes of transport to get to…?”

Practical And Safety Traveling Tips

by VisitItaly on May 9, 2009

Whether you are used to traveling domestically or abroad, you must never let your guard down and become too complacent. After all, you are in a foreign area and it often leaves you feeling vulnerable. There is a vast range of unpredicted circumstances that could arise when you are traveling such as theft and robbery. Tourists who are negligent of their belongings often fall prey to these individuals who aim to take advantage of their vulnerability.

Here are some practical tips to ensure a safe travel. While most of them might be quite obvious, a simple reminder won’t hurt:

*Keep a close eye on your luggage at all times. If you have to put them down, make sure that they are close within your reach and they you can see it.

*Never keep any important documents or valuable items away from you. Avoid putting these valuable items inside a bag that can possibly be taken away by some robbers since you are also posing them at risk of being taken away. Items like credit cards or passport must be securely placed in a passport holder or passport wallet. You need to carry them with you at all times.

*If possible, dress simple and appropriately. Wear as little jewelry as possible since they could suggest affluence and trigger potential thieves or pickpockets.

*Never bring all your credit cards with you during travel.

*Vary the time at which you leave your hotel room or apartment. That way, no one can monitor and predict your schedule.

*Examine the safety features of the hotel or apartment you are staying in. Opt for a room near the stairwell. Make sure that the hotel room doors have a peephole and can be opened only through the use of cards.

*Be cautious when riding a cab or public transportation. Keep an eye on your bag and other important belongings.

*If you are driving your own car, park in well-lit areas. Preferably, these areas must have enough people around too.

*If you are traveling for an important business appointment or conference, bring travel alarm clocks to ensure that you wake up on time and never be late for those appointments. When you have trouble waking up early in the morning, choose the type of alarm clock that produces a loud noise.

*Before even leaving for your trip, you need to formulate an emergency plan with members of your family. That way, they’d be informed on what they need to do in case emergencies happen.

*Never divulge any travel plans or personal information with anyone while you are traveling, especially among strangers.

*If you have to take medications, properly label them. Place reminders on the schedule when you must take these medications.

*Whatever you do, never flash your money in public. This will invite notorious pickpockets and robbers.

*Before visiting a specific city or region, do some background research on the city. This will give you a clear idea of the traffic system, the crime rate, and other essential information that will enable you to assess how much safety precaution you need.

Period Property Holiday Cottages

by VisitItaly on March 26, 2009

A break in the countryside can be the best way to relax and to spend some time with your loved ones. I remember staying at some holiday cottages in Hampshire when I was a kid and also some in Dorset and they were always a good way to recharge.

The holiday cottages in Hampshire were set in a lovely rural setting, where we could visit local tourist attractions. We were also situated close to the cities of Southampton and Portsmouth so we could go shopping and visit the docks if we wished to do so.

The countryside holiday cottage in Hampshire was a period property that had been restored to its original condition by some specialist conservation Builders in Somerset. They had managed to do an excellent job repairing the cottage to it’s original form and this made are stay even more enjoyable as we would often sit in front of the fireplace and play Monopoly.

The Dorset Cottages was very different to the holiday cottages in Hampshire. It was still a rural cottage but it had more modern appliances as it wasn’t restricted by the same listed building laws as the one in Hampshire. Dorset is a region of the UK that has a healthy mix of modern towns and business areas, whilst also retaining some of its countryside mystery with its beautiful beaches and villages. Staying in Dorset cottages can be extremely rewarding for people of all ages; the beach provides a great experience for all, allowing a mix of relaxation with plenty of entertainment for children of all ages.

The self catering holiday cottages in Dorset we had were situated just outside of Poole, which allowed us to go to all the different tourist attractions that can be found in the region. This meant we got to have fantastic days out at places like Monkey World, Moors Valley Country Park and we took a trip to see the Cerne Abbas Giant.

Ways To Save When Sleeping In A Hotel

by VisitItaly on March 16, 2009

Sometimes, we need to travel out of town or out of the country and the only place to stay is a hotel. If this is the case, you should know the different Ways to Be Frugal when staying in a hotel.

The best place to look for good rates is online because most establishments these days post promos through their company website. While browsing, you may even find a site that offers airline tickets and hotels which is good for companies who don’t have corporate rates.

Once you have found a few good choices, compare what each one is offering and then get whoever is offering the best deal.

If you have only purchased an airline ticket and have not found yet a place to stay, look at the local phone book and then make inquiries the moment you land. Unlike the first option, this is going to be quite challenging especially if you are looking for a place and calling from a public phone.

When you are talking to someone from the hotel, ask if they offer any discounts. It is possible that one of your credit cards you have may entitle you to a 10% discount and you will never know until you ask.

But what if you don’t have to ride a plane but travel by car? You can still find Ways to Be Frugal for a hotel by visiting the local gas station, restaurant, rest area or visitor’s center that usually give out free coupons or even brochures. Such discounts could save you $10 to $20 per night so you can use the money on something else.

If there are no promos and no coupons, try your luck and see if you can negotiate a reasonable price for staying in the hotel. There is a chance you could get it if you happen to be a member of the military, a club, a certain school, part of a union or part of a professional organization.

Should the hotel be unable to give you a discount, don’t waste your time there and consider other places which you may have not considered before. This could mean the rooms may be smaller and the service they give may not be equal to what you have experienced in the past but there could be other things which may surprise and even impress you during your stay.

But the best way to Be Frugal on a hotel is still to book in advance. Most hotels give good rates when you book 6 months or longer in advance compared to booking a reservation a week or two before your actual arrival.

Things are far more different though when you are part of a contingent and you are booking for a large number of people for the next few days. This is because even if hotels give you a discounted rate, they still make money because the guests will not only sleep in the rooms but also use some of the amenities the hotel offers including eating in the restaurants.

There are Ways to Be Frugal when staying in a hotel. You can look for good deals online, calling them once you get there or simply by using your charm so good luck when you are looking for a place to stay.

For other ways to save money please see online instant health insurance quotes or term insurance quote or auto insurance coverage quote on line.

Why Calabria is an Exciting For Property Investments

by VisitItaly on February 3, 2009

In Italy the price of properties is normally quite expensive especially in the popular cities and locations like Rome & Tuscany for example. This is mainly due to there popularity as tourist destinations with numerous attractions and also are home to the more wealthy Italians.

Calabria on the other hand was relatively unknown and unexplored by foreign visitors and kind of off the beaten track for tourists to Italy and because of this there is quite an difference with the wealth of the north of Italy and the more traditional destinations as mentioned earlier than that of the southern most regions and especially Calabria which has in the past created the economy from farming and agricultural sources of revenue.

The fact that Calabria is less affluent and lacked the required infrastructure to make access easy and because of this the cost of Calabria property is at the moment a lot less expensive than that of the traditional tourist destinations in Italy.

Tiny picturesque villages hug the hills along the coast where an excellent selection of top quality property developments and resorts are being built in breathtaking settings with amazing views of both the Mountains and dramatic coastline and the quant villages offer a traditional Italian culture and way of life.

The region has been identified as an ideal destination for tourism growth and has recently received vast sums of EU funding to improve infrastructure and the region is also receiving a considerable amount of private investment as also. Calabria has a young property market and even though the prices have risen by thirty percent in the pervious year the price of quality real estate and tourist accommodation is still very low compared to Italy other regions and most other European destinations.

The price of property in Calabria is predicted to continue by 15 – 20% per year on year for the foreseeable future. Add this to the excellent rental potential driven by tourism growth and you can see that Calabria is an exciting a new overseas investment property destination.

Leisurely Breakfasts

by VisitItaly on January 29, 2009

There’s nothing like a good breakfast to start off your day. After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. What better way to relish it than to have it in style? Some people enjoy their breakfast al fresco; others treat it as another meal to be enjoyed with the family on a dining set. Some opt for a more casual setting, like a bar atmosphere, by simply utilizing bar stools in a breakfast area.

Breakfast bar stools, as they have been christened, are simply bar stools used in a different way. They are designed to fit a particular kitchen set-up. Breakfast bar stools are often taller and skinnier, and built to swivel. They are made to fit perfectly next to a kitchen counter. They are perfect for limited space. Even better, they look great and are very easy to keep clean, depending on the upholstery. For more please visit Bed & breakfast st augustine

Eggs for Breakfast, Eggshell for Breakfast Bar Stools
Breakfast bar stools come in a variety of styles and sizes to fit your needs. To find good breakfast bar stools, all you need to do is look around. If you have a specific color scheme in your kitchen, you can get breakfast bar stools that blend in flawlessly. Or, you can opt for a basic primary color that will look good in any color scheme. The latter is a very practical choice and allows you to redecorate your kitchen at whim, without having to buy key furniture. You can even get customized breakfast bar stools built if you have something more specific in mind.

Breakfast Bar Stools’ Functionality
The term breakfast bar stool is a misnomer. Breakfast bar stools are not only used during breakfast. Because of their versatility, breakfast bar stools can be used in so many different ways, at different times. You can use them while fixing a quick snack alone or with friends, or when having a cup of coffee or tea. You can eat lunch and dinner on them. You can even use them as work space or a homework space for schoolchildren.

Breakfast bar stools are both stylish and functional. They are extremely usable and at the same time, decorative. They look great with and on any kitchen counter. This is why most people decorating or redecorating their kitchens choose them. For more please visit st augustine bed & breakfast

Breakfast Bar Stools and the Modern Family
Incidentally, there is an unexpected benefit to sitting on breakfast bar stools. A big kitchen table and chairs set can sometimes provide more space than a family needs. Not breakfast bar stools. They are perfect for the modern family. The stools are built high enough for children to reach the counter. Just imagine your little ones coming home after a long day from school. With breakfast bar stools, they can easily eat snacks and make their homework on the kitchen counter.

Similarly, breakfast bar stools are cozy enough to foster friendships. You can have friends over for coffee or tea at your new bar, with your stylish breakfast bar stools. Your friends will surely appreciate their beauty, stylishness, and versatile functionality.

Indeed, breakfast bar stools are the perfect mergers of function and style. Breakfast need not be a hurried, harried, and drab affair. With breakfast bar stools, you now have more reason to relish your food bite upon bite. For more please visit bed and breakfast florida
